Project Description

The City, together with Xcel Energy and other local partners, participated in a Ford Motor Company (Ford) proposal to the US Department of Energy seeking grant funds to develop advanced electric-drive vehicles and to deploy electric vehicle charging infrastructure. The Minnesota partnership is one of 15 such coalitions partnering with Ford on its proposal. The Minnesota partners, in exchange for installing public charging infrastructure with smart grid applicability, will recieve electric-drive vehicles from Ford.
